The Desires of Your Heart

In the Bible it tells us to go"Boldly Before The Throne of God". I think this is probably one of the most miss interpreted scriptures. As Christians some of us believe that this particular scripture puts us above everyone else in God's eyes and that we can ask God for anything that we want without any reverance or understanding of His will. Some of us demand things from God. Is it any wonder why the "lost" hate us so. To go boldly before the throne of God means that we should approach His throne without fear. He wants us to join Him there through praise, worship and prayer while we are here on Earth. But most importantly The Lord wants to see us in His Throne Room when we leave this spiritual plan. The Throne Room is a place to ask The Lord for the true desires of your heart. Now Jesus knows the true desires of your heart but he wants you to meditate and pray about what you truly want in life. I believe you will find that all those material things that we have a tendency to "need" will give way to what is really important to you. Through this you will learn what God's will is for your life as you pray and study His Word. And His desires for your life will become the desires of your heart. Be careful what you pray for, remember the Lord can have quite a sense of humor.

Tiny Worship Leader

I was at church this morning and during the worship the usual people were dancing and praising the Lord. But you could tell it was just a little restrained. In the middle of worship this tiny two-year old little girl ran amongst the worshippers and just started clapping and dancing and twirling around in her pretty little summer dress without a care in the world. Her father chased her down the aisle but instead of scooping her up and making her sit down in the pew, he let her worship the Lord to her little hearts content. One of the ladies gave her a circle with ribbons to wave and she just waved praises to the Lord. The whole atmosphere changed. This little one was dancing among the angels not the congregation. I could see them just dancing and clapping with her like anyone would dance with a two- year old. It was a sight to behold .

The Lord shared this word with me. The teacher becomes the student. The smallest of worshippers set the example for all of you. Adults believe they have to teach a child to praise and worship God, but it is the children who will teach the adults to praise and worship without hesitation and with full abandonment. The joy of the Lord is reflected in the praises from his children both the big and especially the small.

Reflection of Each Other

If you have ever read Proverbs 31 you will see that it is about a very accomplished woman. Just reading about her makes me tired. When I was young and single, I usually asked what did the Proverbs 31 husband do all day. As I got older and I married, I realized that the wife described in Proverbs 31 was a reflection of her husbands faith in her abilities. She is allowed to do all those things describe in those verses because her husband trusts her with those tasks. And she trusts him to represent the family in his position at the city's gate.

In my old line of work and in the ministries I serve in, I get to meet a lot people .
My dad taught me long ago that the measure of a man is evident in his wife and children.
They are a direct reflection of him. The same is true of women. You can tell where a person's priorities lie pretty quickly by meeting their family. If you are single it is how you treat your close friends and immediate family.

Husbands are reflections of their wives and visa versa. A married man is only as successful as the woman beside him and a married woman is only as productive as her husband trusts her to be. When you marry it is your duty to do everything you are capable of inorder for your spouse to be a successful servant in the Lord's Kingdom. Husbands and wives must encourage each other to use the gifts the Lord has given each of you for the glory of God.

All children of God are reflections of their Holy Father. What will people see when they met you for the very first time? Make sure they see what you hold close to your heart.

A Child's Outstreched Hand

Oh to be like a child, with no prejudices, no preconceived ideas, just acceptance and love. The Lord gave me a word not long ago. "Out of the mouths of babes. Unity for the church will come through a child's outstretched hand." The more I meditate on this the more I believe He is talking abut the Church universal and mankind in general. Children are not born with hate in their hearts. They do not know what doctrine or dogma mean and they really don't care. They just want to laugh, sing and play with as many friends as possible, no matter how different they may be. In fact they are so curious about people who are different that children's will sometimes ask what we adults consider inappropriate questions. But they just want to know why an individual is different from them. Not better or worse just different. Their questions help them understand that person better. Wouldn't help with all the conflicts both in our churches and frankly in our world if we did the same? The Lord knew that the children who came to Him would ask all kinds of questions that an adult would never dare ask. What would you ask Him? Jesus is willing and able to answer even your most childish question. Go ahead and ask.

Seeing through the eyes of a child

You can see something a hundred times and never see all the details of what your are looking at and then feel like an utter fool when you take a child to see the exact same thing. Children hearts do not have any preconceived ideas. The little minds are open to the whole experience. They truly experience everything to the fullest. This why the Lord wants us to come to him like little children. Our hearts and minds have to be fully open to all of the glories and wonders that are Christ. This is the only way we can experience all the goodness that is Jesus. I here a lot of preachers tell their congregations to come expecting wondrous signs. But sometimes I think we should just run into His arms like a child and see what happens. He is waiting for you with open arms. I can't wait to hear what you have seen when you run into them.

Reflection of Kindness

There is an old saying about walking a mile is someone's shoes. We have all known someone who seems to blow their stack at the smallest thing. But did you ever stop and think that just could have been the straw that broke the camel's back? Next time you know someone with a short fuse look beyond their anger. Sometimes they need a kind word or just a smile or maybe a little bit of help with a menial task. I know that I could be very short with people when my father was sick. What most people did not know is that I dreaded answering the phone. I never knew when "the call" would come and my husband and I would have to pack and hi-tail it to the hospital 5 hours away. All while trying to run a business and keep seven people employed. Even though my father has gone to be with the Lord and we closed the business so I would have more time to be with my family, there were and are still times I feel very alone. I often think about the lack of kindness in the world and how we should be really practice WWJD. Because if we did so many people would see Christ through our acts of kindness, which is a reflection of His love for us. If more people saw Christ through us then they would know that they are never truly alone. Smile, wave, speak a kind word to someone today. You may be that little flicker of light calling out to them in the storm. Shine your light.

Carrying the Light

For our teens, remember there are many little eyes watching you. The wee ones look to you as an example. What are they learning from you? You are the future. The fate of the earth lies with you. Shine His light in the darkness. Become a beacon and share Christ's love with all. Let His light guide your path and do not stray from it. For we expect great things from all of you.

Never Ending Treasure

The Lord is the only treasure you can never get enough of. There is always something new to discover about Him. The more time you spend with Him the more of the treasure He has waiting for you will be revealed. Never ceasing wonders to put us in awe of Him. Just waiting for us to discover. We just have to make room for Jesus in not only our hearts but in our daily lives. The Lord wants to spend time with us. Grab His hand and walk with Him.

The Best Beauty Secret

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beholding the Lord is the best beauty secret of all. When you carry the Light of the Lord on the inside you will be luminous on the outside even when you don't think you are beautiful. Look at yourself through the eyes of the Lord. Spend time with the Lord by reading his Word and just talking to Him through pray and meditation and you will soon see that others will see you in a whole different light.

Welcome To The Reluctant Prophetess' Blog

Hello there! I am so glad you stopped by. My name is Helen and I live in Florence, AL. I am a Messianic Jew who recently realized that I walk in the prophetic. The funny thing is that a few of my friends from church seem to know this and did not bother to tell me. Oh well! I had often wondered why things would happen the way I had "seen" them. I had always put it up to good old fashioned female intuition until the concerns that were troubling me about the church I attend began being addressed one by one from the pulpit. It was if the Pastor was preaching a sermon I had written. It truly freaked me out. I have always been very conservative when it came to the spiritual gifts, but this was something I could not ignore so I called our associate pastor and told him I need a crash course in the Spiritual Gifts. He was really great about it. And is much as I denied that I had this gift, he finally convinced me that I did.

The gift of prophecy can be very scary because sometimes you see things that are not happy. This is why I titled my blog the "Reluctant Prophetess". I did not seek out this gift and was not real sure I wanted it, but as we know the Lord works in mysterious ways. The great part about the gift of prophecy is you get really great words from the Lord to encourage people and that is my favorite part. I love to get words for individuals and even more general words that can encourage anyone. Everything that will be posted on this Blog is meant to encourage you in your relationship with Christ. There will be no predictions posted here. I created this Blog as place where anyone can come and get a word of encouragement as the Lord wills in giving them to me. I truly hope this will be a blessing to you and I encourage you to spend quiet time with the Lord and see what He shares with you. I would love to hear what the Lord shares with you. I also want to hear your prayer requests and praise reports.

Be blessed and be a blessing,

Dancing with God

I wish I could take the credit for this but this came from my freind Roxanne in CA. I hope you get as much out of it as I did.

Dancing with God When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I was drawn to"dance" at the end of the word. I reflected upon how doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes this and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE. When I saw "G," I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i." "God, "u" and "i" dance". God, you, and I dance. This statement is what guidance means to me. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you and your family on this day and everyday. May you abide in Him as He abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. If God has done anything for you in your life, please share this message with someone else. I Hope You Dance !!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking for your soul mate?

I hope this story will encourage you in your search for your soul mate. I was single until I was 35 years old and I really believed that I would spend my life alone. I was a busy career girl and traveled a lot and worked long hours. I was very active in my church and I truly enjoyed being single about 90% of the time. I traveled all over the world and had the freedom to come and go as I pleased. But just like every single person you come to the point when you are ready to settle down and share your life with someone other than your dog. As an avid shopper I always mark the beginning of the Holiday Season on Halloween. On Halloween night 1998, I prayed to the Lord that this would be the last Holiday Season I would spend as a single person. I was very specific in what I wanted in a husband. I must tell you that the Lord does have a sense of humor so be careful what you pray for. I had stop dating about 5 years prior to that because I was simply too busy. Yet , I had never given my search to God. That night I truly gave up searching for my soul mate. I believed that if the Lord had someone for me He will send them to me when I was truly ready to begin a new phase in my life. One year later my now husband, Alex walk through my door for the very first time and we have been together ever since. And he was everything I had ask the Lord for in a husband. The more you chase love the more it will evade you. If you are truly ready for love then ask the Lord the desires of your heart and get yourself ready for that special man or woman that the Lord has for you. Remember that the Lord always knows what is best for you and even if He deems it so you will be single, remember that you are never alone with Him in your heart.

You are so worth it.

Sometimes we ladies are our own worst enemies. Everyone of us have had those days when we feel like we just do not count. Whether we feel we are not pretty enough, young enough, thin enough, smart enough, or spiritual enough the Lord thought enough of us to give his life for us so we can spend eternity with Him. He did this for everyone of us because He knew we were worth the price. So the next time you are having one of those days, remember what Jesus did for you, because He knew you were worth it.

Be blessed and be a blessing,
